Back in 2008, before companies were adopting Facebook as a marketing tool, Terrace Communities was interested in using emerging social networking technologies to bring together their seven assisted living communities in Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and Florida. They wanted a new and innovative way to connect their residents, families, staff, and partners that would also bring the company business value.
Terrace Communities and CareNetworks collaborated to launch the first ever Online Assisted Living Community site in the country. it was a daring social media experiment for an industry not known for being particularly advanced on the web. We built the site on an existing social networking platform to save cost and customized it as much as we could. We provided content, training, and ongoing monitoring, management and moderation services and worked closely with Terrace Communities staff at every location to optimize the site for the end user.
The Terrace Online Assisted Living Community Site has been featured on Mashable and in many industry articles since its launch. In 2010, the site won the prestigious Assisted Living Federation of America’s Best of the Best Award for Senior Living Operations and Technology & Innovation. The site has drawn tens of thousands of visitors to the Terrace Communities brand over the years and continues to serve as a communications and lead generating tool for the company.
